New, Dutch Ocean Fresheeeeee

Red letter week mint result.

Hi all

I decided with some time off collage for Easter I would go out for a couple of nights on a 32 acre pond called Cumbwich ponds in the south west. On arrival the lake only had 1 angler which was situated down the leg, after a walk around I decided to try my luck on the lakes most popular swim The Suicide.  After the warm weather of last year the swim filled with weed, this weed had continued through this season in the swim causing it to be relatively un-fished. Because of the difficulty of the water most anglers therefore moved to the main lake which was clear.

I decided to go with my spod mix which I prepared days before to give the mix time to ferment, and some BBQ sardine boilies. Once set up I had a run in under an hour which was the most shocking thing because the venue is known to cause anglers to blank for long periods of time. After the nose of the 15lb common the spreader block, I thought I was going to be in for a few. On the arrival of my fishing buddy things started to go sour. I lost one fish on a hook snap, yes a hook snap, the hook was a korda wide gap, then I had a mussel bite through my line, another reason why the weed was so ignored was because of the large amounts of muscles in the water, then to top things of I had lost another fish to unknown reasons.

"
Mint 22lb Common"

As the second night came my friend had two fish the biggest being 16 pound and I was on one fish, then things started to change by the morning of the third day the rod in the margin next to the snags slowly peeled off, after a nervous fight with the fish steaming through 8 foot of weed I finally landed a cracking 22 pound common which was mint. After this my session started to pick up even by now, Easter Friday the lake had reached maximum capacity and the anglers were all struggling, I was slowly landing some cracking fish. After a 6 day session I finished on 13 carp and my friend had 2 fish.

A complete red letter week for me cheers guys, don't be afraid to try the swims that are being ignored because of the difficulty try them you just might surprise yourself.

Tight lines guys

Rick
