New, Dutch Ocean Fresheeeeee

"FISH-INN" Ocean Fresh…
Fishing big waters is a challenge when you are used to small lakes or river systems. When ever I see big water, it frightens me into to thinking where I should put by rig. My preferred fishing spot is casting distance to a nice feature like a gravel island margin or using a electric boat to get underneath a over hanging tree where the water is slow and calm. These to me are top fishing features which I know carp will visit at sometime in the day and especially at night. But on big waters where, must it go? In this large lake near Amsterdam, the bottom is flat as a pancake. The depth is consistent at 1.7m from left to right I see no features just open water as far as the eye can see. My two nights produce two bleeps! Not much to write about except.

The largest carp of the session fell to our Belgium fieldtester "Boulie" his first ever Dutch carp. A nice common of 12.5kg. Boulie fished at distance, scattering 2.5kg of Green Lipped Mussel boilies around his hook bait. The winds picked up with heavy rain and as soon as you could hear the thunder his alarm screamed into action. The fight was at distance so netting was simple and easy. The weather was bitterly cold and wet, not the nicest way to land any carp. He sacked the fish up for what turned out to be the best fishing day, the day all our gear was in car and we were ready to go back home. Typical!

12.5 kg…

Good angling mate!
